Visa-Free Entry for US Citizens
US passport holders can enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 30 days. Requirements:
- Valid US passport (6+ months validity)
- Return or onward ticket
- Proof of accommodation
Extensions: Up to 36 months total stay at any Bureau of Immigration office in the Philippines.
Balikbayan Privilege (1 Year Stay)
Former Filipino citizens holding a US passport can enter visa-free for up to 1 year under the Balikbayan privilege:
- Present old Philippine passport, birth certificate, or RA 9225 Order of Approval at immigration
- Must enter the Philippines using a foreign passport
- No extension needed — 1 year from date of arrival
- Applies also to Filipino-American families (spouse and children of former Filipinos)
